Patricia Schaub, Deputy Director

Pat Schaub joined FERC in 2006, first in the Policy Division within the Office of Energy Markets and Reliability, now as Deputy Director for the Office of External Affairs. The Office is the Commission’s primary point of contact with the public, Congress, international, federal, state and local government offices, public interest groups and the news media.

Ms. Schaub has over 20 years of experience in management and energy regulation and governmental affairs at state, federal and international levels. Most recently, she served as Vice President External Affairs for Allegheny Energy, where she led state and federal regulatory and governmental affairs strategy and advocacy, including directing and serving as spokesperson for state outreach efforts during the company’s financial decline; obtaining securitization legislation for financing scrubbers, and developing the path for renegotiation of the company’s power sales contract with California.

Prior to that, as Vice President Government and Regulatory Affairs for Entergy Corp.’s independent power unit, Ms. Schaub directed European and U.S. regulatory, legislative and executive branch strategy and advocacy. She also did Federal lobbying for Entergy and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) and served in a number of regulatory functions for PG&E in San Francisco.

Ms. Schaub received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
