Headliner Volume 222
January 14, 2008
Two legacy EFTPS software interfaces are being phased out. If you are using the Internet, phone or new enhanced EFTPS batch provider software released July 2006, please continue to do so. There is no interruption to these services. However:
- The dial-up/modem version of the EFTPS batch filer software distributed prior to July 2006 is no longer being supported.
- The EFTPS PC dial-up software will not be supported after Jan. 31, 2008.
Free enhanced EFTPS batch provider software is available from the EFTPS Web site by clicking on “Help and Information” and then “Downloads.”
If you use the old EFTPS PC software to make multiple payments for multiple clients, you must re-enroll all clients for whom you make payments. This may take up to two weeks to complete. To begin, download the free enhanced EFTPS batch provider software at the link above.
If you are using the old EFTPS PC dial-up/modem software to make payments for your business only, we encourage you to use EFTPS via the Internet or phone at (800) 555-3453. You can continue using your current Personal Identification Number (PIN) when you make payments via the phone. You also will need your Taxpayer Identification Number, which you used to create your original enrollment. To obtain your Internet password--required to make payments online--please call (800) 982-3526.
Also, if you are using commercially available software, you may want to ensure with the manufacturer that they are not using the EFTPS dial-up/modem only version of the EFTPS PC software to transmit your payments.
