The IRS.gov Web site has been updated with a new section for Disaster FAQs. The Web site has been launched and has the current information on disaster relief and frequently asked questions. The Hurricane Katrina FAQs are now listed separately from the general FAQs, which are applicable to any disaster.
For the latest information on relief granted to disaster victims, visit the IRS.gov Web site and refer to Guidance for those affected by Disasters, or call the IRS Federally Declared Disaster Hotline toll-free with any tax-related questions at (866) 562-5227.
