General Information

The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) has grown to one of the largest professional conferences for biomedical and behavioral students since its inception in 2001.  Over 2,400 individuals attended the 2007 ABRCMS including 1,288 undergraduate students, 289 graduate students, 76 postbaccalaureate students, and 35 postdoctoral scientists.

The goal of ABRCMS is to facilitate and encourage undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and graduate level under-represented minority students to pursue advance training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.

The 2008 ABRCMS is scheduled for November 5 - 8 in Orlando, Florida. The Exhibit Prospectus will be available May 15, 2008.

Academic institutions, organizations, foundations, professional societies and federal agencies that offer services and programs for minority students in the biomedical and behavioral sciences are invited to showcase information on fellowships, graduate programs, and student membership at the 2008 ABRCMS.

ABRCMS serves as a key stepping stone enhancing the scientific and professional development of young scientists. After participating in ABRCMS, all students are strongly encouraged to attend professional society meetings of their respective disciplines to continue their scientific and professional development.
