Ione Band of Miwok Indians

Since our Tribe's federal recognition in March 1994, we have faced several challenges and obstacles. Yet we remain a focused and resilient people, ready to move forward on the path of true economic self-reliance. Our democratically elected tribal government has been working hard towards achieving our goal of establishing our tribal land base, which will provide the foundation for our future.

The Ione Tribal Culture and history is rich and deep with tradition. We care for our community to know of this culture since time immemorial.

Our Tribe's federal recognition was secured on March 22, 1994 and, as a restored Tribe, we may take land into trust to establish a reservation.
