Decades of conflict have led to widespread economic crisis and social instability in the Palestinian Territories. In the face of high unemployment rates of 25 percent in the West Bank and 42 percent in Gaza, Palestinian youth are vulnerable to despair, radical ideologies, and violence. In response, RI has launched several initiatives to address the needs of Palestinian youth, women, and the community at large. RI’s Schools Online programs provide access to Information and Communications Technology education opportunities and empowerment via nonviolence in the Gandhi Project.
