The Wireless Communications
Association on Wednesday presented its annual "Leadership
in Government" award Wednesday, January 18th,
2006, to Michael D. Gallagher, assistant secretary
of Commerce for communications and information and
administrator of the National Telecommunications and
Information Administration (NTIA). In a presentation
at the WCA's Twelfth Annual International Symposium
in San Jose, California, WCA President Andrew Kreig
commended Assistant Secretary Gallagher for policy
leadership that has been "enormously helpful"
to the growth of wireless broadband. Assistant Secretary
Gallagher has served as President Bush's principal
advisor on telecommunications policy since August,
2003.
