We choose to live in the Northwest for the
beauty and bounty of the mountains, oceans, snow and rain.
We are fortunate that, in addition to the beauty of these elements,
they all work together to form the water cycle which provides us with
a tremendous source of renewable, natural power- The Columbia River.
As long as this water cycle continues to happen,
the act of filling a room with light at mere turn of a switch
will continue to be a predictable and uneventful occassion in our lives.
..... "What sets the the Columbia River apart as North America's
champion power system is its fast and continuous drop
from the mountains to the sea. The Columbia keeps kicking the flywheels
that put the Northwest in economic motion".
- Robin Cody, Voyage of a Summer Sun
