On July 23, 2008 USGS and Patuxent Wildlife Research Center scientist W. Nelson Beyer received an award for his contributions to the Department of Interior's Technical Advisory Group-Upper Columbia River-Lake Roosevelt Project. Beyer represented USGS as an expert in metals and actions needed to clean up the Lake Roosevelt site (Washington state). The FWS, NPS, Bureau of Reclamation, BIA, and BLM were also involved. |
