JOHN KNEUER, WASHINGTON D.C. TELECOMMUNICATIONS ATTORNEY, TO JOIN NTIA AS COUNSELOR TO ACTING ASSISTANT SECRETARY MICHAEL D. GALLAGHER

On Monday, October 27th, John M. R. Kneuer, senior associate at the law firm of Piper Rudnick in Washington, D.C., will join the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as Counselor to Acting Assistant Secretary Michael D. Gallagher.

“John is going to bring extremely valuable experience, knowledge and insight to NTIA,” Gallagher said in announcing Kneuer’s appointment. “His work as an attorney-advisor in the wireless bureau at the FCC, combined with his work providing regulatory and legislative representation to corporate clients in telecom, defense, and transportation industries, will be invaluable to NTIA’s telecommunications and spectrum policy objectives.”

Kneuer became associated with the firm of Verner, Liipfert (now known as Piper Rudnick) in 1998. Prior to that, he was executive director for government relations at the Industrial Telecommunications Association (1997-98) and an attorney-advisor in the commercial wireless division of the FCC’s wireless bureau (1996-97). He received B.A. and J.D. degrees from the Catholic University of America.
