2004 WEATHER SAFETY AND SPOTTER TRAINING SCHEDULE
2006 WEATHER SAFETY AND SPOTTER TRAINING SCHEDULE
The National Weather Service
relies on trained volunteers to help identify signifcant storms throughout the
year. Their valuable cooperation is important in the warning process. Weather reports from
trained spotters are used along with doppler radar data to issue warnings for
tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and flash floods. Their observations also help in identifying
areas of heavy rain and snow fall. Trained spotters are provided a toll free number to call the
National Weather Service with their observations. Check the table for a training session near you.
