MPI at NERSC

MPI stands for Message Passing Interface. The goal of MPI is to develop a widely used standard for writing message-passing programs. As such the interface attempts to establish a practical, portable, efficient, and flexible standard for message passing.

Most parallel codes that run at NERSC use MPI for inter-task communication. Please see the web pages for individual machines for details about how to run MPI codes.
