Nobel Prizes

SLAC's accelerators provide intense beams of high energy electrons and positrons, and x-ray photons. Experiments using these beams have resulted in important discoveries and advances in high energy particle physics, chemistry, biology and materials science. These achievements are widely recognized. Most notably, SLAC research has led to three Nobel prizes in physics and one in chemistry.
