Water Management Research Unit
San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center, Parlier, California |
Our unit conducts research in irrigation water management and methyl bromide alternatives. Seven research scientists and their teams investigate soil and irrigation water availability, water quality, water resource management, and methyl bromide alternatives in pre-plant soil fumigation.
|
Irrigation Water Management
§ develop methods and practices to increase water use efficiency and improve productivity
§ reduce negative environmental impacts of irrigated agriculture in semi-arid and arid areas |
Methyl Bromide Alternatives
§ develop chemical and non-chemical methyl bromide alternatives to control plant parasitic nematodes, soil-borne plant pathogens, and weeds
§ reduce emissions of methyl bromide alternative soil fumigants |
What’s new at the Water Management Unit?
We've just hired a new Secretary! Welcome to Rose Bitanga!
