TIKRIT, Iraq (March 20, 2008) – Iraqi Soldiers discovered a weapons cache of explosives east of Balad, March 16. The weapons cache included ammonium nitrate, more than a dozen mortar shells, several pounds of homemade explosives, several weapons, and materials for making improvised explosive devices. “These discoveries will continue to deny the enemy the means to conduct future attacks,” said Maj. Dan Meyers, a U.S. military spokesman in northern Iraq. |
