Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)

The LEAD program prepares the most promising USCIS professionals at various levels and grades to assume broadened leadership responsibilities.

The courses are designed to help employees at all levels strengthen:

• strategic leadership skills
• decision-making instincts
• critical thinking abilities

National security professional education programs under LEAD represent the first step towards implementing the National Security Professional Development Executive Order issued by the President on May 17, 2007.

The program offers USCIS professionals "access to integrated education, training, and professional experience opportunities for the purpose of enhancing their mission-related knowledge, skills, and experience and thereby improve their capability to safeguard the security of the nation."
