New Online Resource: NHLBI’s Diseases and Conditions Index

Some of you may have already begun using our new online resource, the Diseases and Conditions Index (DCI). If you have then you already know that it is a wonderful resource for patients and the public written in plain language, but what you may not know is that you can now order bulk copies at low cost. This is perfect for doctors’ offices, health fairs, and information racks.

Tell me more about the DCI! The DCI is an online information resource on diseases and conditions related to heart, lung, and blood diseases, and sleep disorders. It is written in an easy-to-read format, and was designed to replace and expand upon the old Fact Sheet series. By putting the DCI online, it allows for greater flexibility because NHLBI can quickly update the topics as new information becomes available. This means that the latest information is available at your fingertips when you need it. Print or download a copy of the topics that interest you for personal or educational use. What if I want bulk copies? You can get color, formatted, print materials from an authoritative source, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, at less than the cost of printing them out yourself on an inkjet or laser printer.
