Electronic Reading Room

The Immigration Electronic Reading Room contains materials specifically identified by the EFOIA (5 USC 552) Amendments of 1996. The site is organized to provide the public with easy access to information. The web site will include and continuously accumulate Immigration records created on or after November 1, 1996, in electronic form or format, and materials identified by 5 USC 552(a)(2). Information found on this website includes:

• Statements of policy and interpretations which have been adopted;
• Final written determinations of administrative proceedings related to the Immigration and Nationality Act;
• Administrative manuals, operating instructions, and handbooks that affect the public; and
• Copies of frequently requested records, regardless of form or format, which have been released to any person under paragraph (a)(3) of 5 USC 552.
