Following is a summary of key federal disaster aid programs that can be made available as needed and warranted under President Bush’s major disaster declaration issued for Iowa.  The assistance is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis in Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Cedar, Clarke, Clinton, Davis, Decatur, Fremont, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Page, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Van Buren, Wapello, Warren, Washington, and Wayne counties. Federal funding also is available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures for all counties and tribes within the state.
