The Mountain Region Security Office (MRSO) is one of 7 field offices
under the Client Services
Division of the Office of Security/US Department of Commerce. The MRSO
provides personnel security services to the agencies of OAR, NESDIS,
NIST Boulder, MBDA, NTIA Boulder and EDA. The MRSO provides physical
security services to all Department of Commerce agencies located within
the Mountain Region. These states include Wyoming, Colorado, New
Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and
Texas.

The Mission of the Office of
Security is to provide policies, programs, and oversight as it
collaborates with:
- Facility managers to reduce the terrorism risks to
DOC facilities;
- Program managers to reduce the espionage risks to
DOC facilities;
- Department and bureau leadership to increase
emergency preparedness for DOC operations.
