Secretary Gutierrez Discusses the Economy, Jobs and International Trade with the Indianapolis Star Editorial Board

Indianapolis, Ind. (Feb. 1)—Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez traveled to Indiana today to highlight the President’s economic stimulus plan and discuss job creation, open markets and export growth. While in Indiana, he issued the following statement on today’s jobs report: “We are not pleased to see the latest snapshot of the jobs picture which shows a down tick in employment. However, the unemployment rate did go down in January. Our economy needs a booster shot and that’s why we can’t delay the President’s bipartisan economic growth package.” (More) (Fact Sheet)
