Secretary Praises March Job Growth

Washington (April 6)—Today Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez praised March job growth. The economy created 180,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.4 percent, the lowest since May 2001. The Secretary noted that the United States has had 43 months of uninterrupted job growth in a recovery that has created nearly 8 million new jobs. (More)
