Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez Hails Solid Economic Growth

Washington (Feb. 28)—Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez today released a statement on the revised fourth quarter real gross domestic product (GDP) report, which showed that the American economy grew at 2.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2006, highlighting the fact that "2006 growth is above the previous 15 year average."
