Speaker Biographies

Thomas Shuster, Ph.D.

Dr. Thomas Shuster has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Utah State University, with an emphasis in Research and Evaluation Methodology. Dr. Shuster is currently the CEO of Spectrum Consulting, a firm specializing in research, evaluation, and development for business, government, and education. Dr. Shuster’s primary experience is in educational research and program evaluation. His work has concentrated in the practical application of research and evaluation methods in the field of education. He has directed over 40 educational research studies and published numerous technical reports and papers related to this work.

Dr. Shuster is also the Research Director for the Safe Food Institute. His role in the Safe Food Institute is to design and oversee the research conducted by the Institute and to assure that it meets rigorous scientific standards. He oversees the design and development of the Safe Food Institute educational campaign. Dr. Shuster designed the research methods for a study on consumer food preparation behavior that was featured on ABC’s Primetime Live and CBS’s Early Show with Bryant Gumbel.
