Speaker Biographies

Jimmy C. Liu

Jimmy Liu works at the USDA/FDA Foodborne Illness Education Information Center, which is housed at the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, MD. The Center provides information about foodborne illness prevention to educators, trainers, and organizations developing education and training materials for food workers and consumers. As a Food Safety Information Specialist, Jimmy helps develop and maintain the Center's web site and HACCP databases. He also developed and maintains the Food Safety Training and Education Alliance (FSTEA) web site. Prior to joining the Center 2 years ago, Jimmy worked in product development and quality assurance for over 9 years in the food industry. He was responsible for developing and implementing food safety programs and conducting food safety training at his former company. He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is both HACCP and ServSafe certified.
