Experience:
2000-present: Dean of the
Davis College of Agriculture,
Forestry, and Consumer Sciences and
Director of the West Virginia
Experiment Station, West Virginia
University, Morgantown, WV. I serve as
the academic leader and executive
officer of the Davis College of
Agriculture, Forestry, and Consumer
Sciences and report directly to the
university provost. I also serve as
the director of the university’s
Agricultural and Forestry Experiment
Station and coordinate the college’s
research and outreach program. The
Davis College comprises 5 divisions,
housing 20 undergraduate degree
programs, 23 master’s degree options
and 10 PhD options in 5 areas. It
includes nearly 100 tenure track
faculty, 1,600 undergraduates, and 300
graduate students. I provide
administrative leadership to foster
academic excellence in teaching,
research, and outreach programs,
fiscal and budget management,
strategic planning, personnel
management, and private-giving
development. In addition to my
university duties, I am chair of the
dean’s section (AHS) of the Northeast
Region. I am also a Chair of NERA’s
(Northeastern Regional Association of
State Agricultural Experiment Station
Directors) executive committee. I
serve as chair-elect for the
administrative heads section of
NASULGC.
