Speaker Biographies
David DeLozier
David DeLozier is a Health
Scientist with the Division of
Adolescent and School Health (DASH) at
the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention. For the past three years,
he has been assigned to the Research
Application Branch as the Food Safety
lead for the entire division. David
provides overall leadership for the
development and implementation of a
comprehensive foodborne illness
prevention program for U.S. schools
under the President's National Food
Safety Initiative. He has also played
a major role in coalescing over 50
government agencies, national
organizations, and trade associations
that share an interest in food safety
in schools to form the
National Coalition for Food Safe
Schools. Prior to his work in
DASH, David worked for three years in
the National Center for Environmental
Health in the Nutritional Biochemistry
and Radiation Studies Branches. Here
his worked focused largely on research
and intervention programs related to
micronutrient malnutrition. David has
a Masters Degree in Public Health from
Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia,
and a Bachelor's Degree in Human
Biology and Anthropology from Emory
University as well.
