Speaker Biographies

Elizabeth A. Bugden, MS

Elizabeth A. Bugden is the School Food Safety Specialist at Kids First in Providence, Rhode Island. Kids First, a non-profit agency that safeguards the nutritional well-being of Rhode Island’s children, is contracted to support the Healthy Schools! Healthy Kids! Comprehensive School Health initiative. The collaborative partners are Kids First, the Departments of Health and Education, and the University of Rhode Island.

Elizabeth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition with a concentration in Business Management from Framingham State College, Framingham, MA, and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. She is a HACCP instructor and a ServeSafe Certified Manager and Instructor.

Elizabeth was a Quality Assurance Scientist for Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. for 14 years. Elizabeth worked for Kraft in the Dairy Group as a Quality Control Supervisor and H.V. Shuster, a consumer products testing company, as a Sensory Analyst. Elizabeth is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, an avid sports fan, and enjoys traveling worldwide.
