work environment, which makes them more vulnerable to injury. The following
references provide links to indices of chemical hazards associated with laboratories.

Provides a source of general industrial hygiene information on several hundred chemicals and classes for workers, employers, and
occupational health professionals.

Summarizes pertinent
information about the properties and hazards of many chemicals found in laboratories.

AIHA Laboratory Health & Safety Committee. American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), Environmental & Occupational Health & Safety Services (EOHSS).
Provides resources to aid in prevention, identification and control of potential exposures to chemical, biological, ergonomic, ionizing and nonionizing
radiation, and phyiscal hazards in laboratories.

Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB). National Library of Medicine (NLM), Toxnet:
Toxicology Data Network. HSDB is a toxicology data file that focuses on the toxicology of potentially hazardous
chemicals. It is enhanced with information on human exposure, industrial hygiene,
emergency handling procedures, environmental fate, regulatory requirements, and related
areas. All data are referenced and derived from a core set of books, government documents,
technical reports and selected primary journal literature. HSDB is peer-reviewed by
the Scientific Review Panel (SRP), a committee of experts in the major subject areas
within the data bank's scope. HSDB is organized into individual chemical records, and
contains over 4800 such records.

file presents, in concise form, data on a large number of chemical
substances that may be encountered in industrial hygiene investigations.

Human Services (DHHS), National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health (NIOSH) Publication 94-113, (1994, August). Provides
individual analytical methods, listed by chemical name or method number.
