SOI Tax Stats - Enforcing Laws

While there are various ways in which the IRS ensures that taxpayers comply with the law, there are also many efforts to ensure that returns are prepared properly and that necessary penalties are assessed fairly. Additional information concerning criminal enforcement activities is also available on IRS.gov.

The tables on this page were originally published in the IRS Data Book (IRS Publication 55B). Data tables within this publication are compiled by various areas within IRS. These tables are then forwarded to SOI, where they are reviewed and put together for publication.
