The Bureau of Reclamation's Southern California Area Office administers water conservation, reclamation and reuse projects throughout southern California.

The Southern California Comprehensive Water Reclamation and Reuse Study joins Reclamation, seven southern California water agencies, and the state Department of Water Resources in a partnership to study and evaluate the feasibility of regional water reclamation throughout the southern California region. Reclamation also provides grants for construction projects in San Diego, Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and other locations to assist municipal water districts to develop or expand facilities and programs that use reclaimed water for a variety of purposes.

In an area with scarce water resources and a population that is increasing by nearly 280,000 people each year, water conservation is essential to maintaining the quality of life and economy of southern California. Through its Water Conservation Field Services Program, Reclamation offers area water management agencies planning assistance, conservation education, new technology demonstrations, and cost-sharing or cooperative agreements to help implement conservation measures.

For more information on these and other programs administered by Reclamation's Southern California Area Office, visit our other web pages, or contact us at the number above or any of our staff via e-mail.
