The Water 2025 Initiative - Water is the lifeblood of the American West and the foundation of its economy. It can also be the scarcest resource in some of the fastest growing areas of the country. Existing water supplies are, or will be, inadequate in many parts of the West. Water 2025 focuses on stretching existing water supplies through collaboration, technology and innovative, market-based solutions. Through the Water 2025 Challenge Grant program, Reclamation enters into collaborative partnerships with local entities on a 50/50 cost-share basis to implement projects that will stretch water resources through conservation, efficiency and water marketing.
