Meeting Minutes
November 6, 2001
Members present:

The meeting was called to order by the Chair, Barbara
Sonnenburg, at 4:00 PM.
The minutes of the meeting on October 18, 2001, were approved
unanimously as written. The revised agenda for the December
3-4, 2001, meeting was reviewed by the Work Group (WG).
December 3, 2001:
- Rebecca Parkin will attend the meeting to present an
update of the Health Education Needs Assessment study.
- Michael Grayson will not have a presentation. Jerry
Pereira will use the time to discuss process issues related
to ORRHES and community involvement.
- Jan Connery, ERG, will discuss by phone the evaluation
of the ORRHES requested by the Chair, Kowetha Davidson.
- The WG questioned the need for the 2-hour time slot
allotted for WG reports. The time allotment was not changed.
The Public Health Assessment WG will not present its
recommendation on the Mangano report until the Epidemiology
Workshop that evening.
- The need for the 2-hour time slot for the Epidemiology
Workshop was questioned but was not changed. There will
be time for Q & A on the Mangano report and for public
comments.
- The public comment session was reduced to 15 minutes
from 6:00-6:15 PM.
December 4, 2001:
- The time allotted for the presentation and discussion
on community health centers was expanded by 30 minutes,
ending at 9:30 AM. The WG agreed that Mr. Jackson should
be given a heads up on the issues. James Lewis will try
to put together some of the issues.
- A motion was made and passed unanimously to move the
public comment period to 9:30-10:00 AM, followed by a
break from 10:00-10:15 AM; Jack Hanley's presentation
was reduced and moved to 10:15-11:45 AM.
- On the consensus building process, the WG wants Ms.
Downey to address the effectiveness of the ORRHES meetings.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 PM. |
