Why we changed the FDA home page?
In a nutshell, we listened to you. We tested the usability of our Web site by asking our key audiences. We sampled more than 188 consumers, health care professionals, and industry representatives and other audiences. They performed many critical interaction scenarios with Web tasks. This usability data pointed us to improvements to make the home page easier and more satisfying to use.
What is different about the new home page?
It has a "layered" approach that allows you to find information quickly. Structure is improved to provide for easy scanning. Content is presented in plain language to make it more understandable.
This is just the beginning!
The new FDA home page represents the first step in an ongoing Web site evolution. We are reviewing, reorganizing and modernizing the content and design, leading to a newly effective FDA communications platform by late 2008. Meanwhile, over the coming year, if you wish to send us feedback on our improvements, please send us your comments at FDA Home Page Comments.
