Research Interests
My research focus has been the ecology of plankton and exotic species.
This has included the following topics: feeding mechanisms and life-cycle
strategies of zooplankton and mussels; long-term trends in plankton of
the Great Lakes and factors that drive them; ecosystem impacts of nonindigenous
species on aquatic systems; mesoscale spatial patterns of plankton distribution
in large lakes; and effects of episodic events on plankton distribution
and recruitment.
