What is Ertaczo used for?   

Ertaczo is a prescription anti-fungal medicine.  It is a cream used on the skin between and around the toes to treat athlete's foot (interdigital tinea pedis) caused by certain fungus (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum).  Ertaczo is for people 12 years of age and older who have a normal immune system. 

Who should not use Ertaczo? 

Do not use Ertaczo if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Ertaczo, or to other anti-fungal medicines called imidazoles.

Special Warning(s) with Ertaczo:   

Ertaczo is for skin (topical) use only. Do not use Ertaczo in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. 

What should I tell my health care provider?

Tell your health care provider:

·       if you are pregnant, are trying to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.

·       about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.  Ertaczo has not been studied in combination with other drugs.

What are some possible side effects of Ertaczo? (This list is NOT a complete list of side effects reported with Ertaczo.  Your health care provider can discuss with you a more complete list of side effects.) 

Side effects with Ertaczo include the following skin reactions at the application site:

  • rash
  • dryness
  • burning
  • tenderness
  • redness
  • itching
  • blisters
  • peeling
  • skin becomes darker
