Asian Family Center Offers Cultural Focus to Treatment
SAMHSA Administrator Terry L. Cline, Ph.D., recently conducted a site visit at a southern California substance abuse treatment center, the Asian Pacific Family Center (APFC) in Rosemead.
APFC provides culturally competent behavioral health care services to meet the needs of the growing Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander populations in the greater San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County. The center’s multilingual service programs receive funding from SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
APFC, with more than 70 staff members, is one division of Pacific Clinics. The overall agency for this treatment work, Pacific Clinics, has more than 1,200 staff members.
