Due to the lower cost of processing orders that are placed online, we have eliminated the $2 service fee for all online orders. There is still a $2 service fee for catalog orders containing free publications placed by mail, phone or fax. There are no additional charges for shipping and handling regardless of the ordering method.
1. Find the Publications You Want
If you know the item number(s) of the item(s) you would like to order, go to our item # listing page. This page displays all of the publications we offer numerically.
Publications on the web site are also listed by topic:
When you are in a topic page you'll see titles and descriptions of all publications available. If a publication is available to view online, the title will be underlined as a link. To read the publication online, simply click on the title.

Links to each topic are at the top and bottom of each page.
We also have many publications in a Portable Document Format (PDF) and in Spanish. Look for the link A pdf version is available and A Spanish version is available next to the description and price of the publication.
You will need the Adobe Reader to view pdf publications.
2. Add the Items to Your Shopping Cart.
To order a printed copy, click the check box on the right side next to the publication description (click it again if you
want to deselect it).
Once you've checked all the
publications you want on that page, click on the button "Add to or View Cart."
This adds your selections to your shopping cart. If you don't do this, your selections from that page will
not be saved to your order form.
Note: This step will not place an
order, only update your order form. Until you specifically authorize payment at
the end of your session, you can change, add, or delete publications, or cancel
the whole order.
After clicking on "Add to or View Cart," you'll be shown a list of all the
items you've selected so far. To continue browsing, click the "continue shopping" button. This will return you to the previous topic page.
You may choose a new topic from links at the top or bottom of the page.
3. Review Your Order
After you've selected all the
publications you plan to order, click on "Add to
or View Cart."
Take a moment to review all the publications you've placed in your shopping cart. If you decide you don't want to purchase a particular publication, click on the "Remove" link next to the Item Number and Title. If you'd like to change the quantity of a particular publication, change the number in the text box below the "Qty" column. If you decide you don't want to order anything and want to delete the whole cart, click on "Clear Cart."
Note: We get these books from different publishing agencies
and each agency has its' own restrictions on how many copies of their free
publications we can supply. We will try to accommodate your request for multiple copies but cannot
guarantee that you will receive all the copies you request. To check on current
availability for specific publications please call toll-free 1-888-878-3256 (8
am - 8 pm ET, M-F) for more information.
Once you're ready to place your order,
click "Complete Order."
4. Completing Your Order
Fill in the
required Billing Address information: name, address, phone number, etc.
Note: If you enter an e-mail address, a confirmation of your order (whether by mail, phone, or online)
will be sent to that address. When
you receive this e-mailed confirmation, look under "Method of Payment."
If it says "Mail" then you have not placed an order online. If it says "Credit card"
or "GPO Deposit Account" we will process your order.
After filling the required information,
click on "Continue to Payment Selection."
5. Choose a Form of Payment
You have three choices:
To use your credit card online (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), fill in your card type, number, and expiration date, then click "Click here to authorize this charge to your credit card."
To pay by GPO Deposit Account, scroll down and fill in your
account number, then click "I authorize this charge to my GPO Account."
To call or mail your order in, scroll down to the bottom and
click "Display Order Form." Print out
the form and mail the form and payment to the
address at the top of the printer-friendly page; call in toll-free to 1-888-878-3256 to place your order over the phone; or fax the printed order form to 1-719-948-9724. Please note that due to higher processing costs, a $2 service fee applies to orders for any free publications placed via phone, mail or fax.
Please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.
If you decide not to place an order,
click on the "Discontinue Transaction" button at the bottom of the page to
clear your information and return to the previous topic page.
