Appalachian Regional Commission Summer Programs

For: High School Students and Teachers in 13 Appalachian States.
ARC collaborated with the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tenn., to provide a two-week residential, hands-on learning institute for high school students and teachers focusing on math, science, and technology. The 2005 summer programs were administered by the ORISE.  The 2006 program is scheduled for July 2006.

Tennessee Science Bowl
For: Teams of High School Students from any school in the state of Tennessee.
The science bowl is a fast-paced academic competition that offers a chance for teams of high school students to match their wits in math and science. Regional/state winners advance to the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C.
