Mike Gough, Director of System Operations Programs

The System Operations Programs organization supports the technical infrastructure of the National Airspace System (NAS) through communications, research and development, sustainment, and program management by:

  • Providing and maintaining the existing Traffic Flow Management (TFM) infrastructure
  • Developing and modernizing hardware, software, and communications equipment through the TFM–Modernization (TFM-M) efforts
  • Providing new functions and enhanced capabilities via software releases to improve NAS traffic flow prediction and overall system capacity through the Collaborative Air Traffic Management Technologies (CATMT), thereby enhancing our ability to collect data for performance measurement and metrics reporting
  • Embracing the Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) philosophy, and actively working within the CDM community
  • Planning, designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining TFM products and services used for strategic planning to safely optimize air traffic flow across the NAS
  • Providing the program, acquisition, and financial management activities required to successfully deliver safe, secure, and cost-effective products and services in collaboration with NAS stakeholders, and our national and international customers
