1 PURPOSE

Cyber Security Manual, DM 3500-000 is being updated and additional chapters are being published.

2 EXPLANATION OF CHANGES

The DM 3500 is being revised primarily to incorporate: an updated Appendix A, Glossary; an updated CS Legal and Regulatory References; added new parts to Chapter 3, Privacy Requirements, Chapter 5, Internet & E-mail Security; Chapter 6, Security Protection and Chapter 8, USDA’s Risk Management Program.

3 FILING INSTRUCTIONS:

Insert or replace the following material

Replace: Appendix A, Glossary dated 7/15/04 (in its entirety) with the updated Appendix A, Glossary;

Appendix B, CS Legal and Regulatory References dated 8/19/04 (in its entirety) with the updated Appendix B, CS Legal and Regulatory References;

Chapter 3, Privacy Requirements, DM 3515-000 dated 8/19/04 with the updated Chapter 3, Privacy Requirements, DM 3515-000;

Chapter 5, Internet & E-mail Security, DM 3525-000 dated 7/15/04 with the updated Chapter 5, Internet & E-mail Security, DM 3525-000;

Chapter 6, Security Protection, DM 3530-000 dated 7/15/04 with the updated Chapter 6, Security Protection, DM 3530-000;

Chapter 8, USDA Risk Management Program, DM 3540-000
