For over 35 years, IEDC’s Advisory Services and Research (ASR) department has
provided customized solutions for communities’ economic development challenges.
With an experienced staff and access to more than 4,500 members, we deliver
practical economic development advice and solutions to local, state, tribal,
federal, and international clients. Our services
address the ever-changing demands placed on the economic development profession.

Process
IEDC brings together a team of expert panelists from our membership, whose
skills and expertise match the needs of a specific advisory services project.
IEDC staff and the member experts visit the community for two to four days. The
team interviews community stakeholders, gathers information, and provides
immediate feedback and recommendations, which are later included in a detailed
final report with case examples.
IEDC also supports communities in a full range of economic development areas
through in-house expertise. This service includes research in emerging trends
and best practices, case studies, and the preparation of comprehensive economic
development strategic plans for cities and counties in the U.S. and abroad.
