 Stem Cell Information --  NIH’s site that addresses basic information on stem cells, the potential of stem cell research, funding opportunities, training, policy and the activities of the NIH Stem Cell Task Force.  Information on Stem Cell Research: National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke (NINDS)  -  The site provides information about NINDS stem cell research programs and links to NIH stem cell resources such as the NIH Stem Cell Task Force, Stem Cell Registry, training on research with stem cells, funding opportunities and policy and guidance documents. Also links to FDA regulatory, policy and guidance documents.

 Cloning/Embryonic Stem Cells  - A review of cloning and embryonic stem cell research and associated ethical issues posted by the NIH National Human Genome Research Institute.

 AAAS Policy Brief: Stem Cell Research (2007)  - This report summarizes scientific and ethical controversies about stem cell research.

 About Stem Cell Research – The International Stem Cell Forum provides basic information, links to research and training resources, and links to stem cell registries and cell banks.

 Alternative Sources of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells: A White Paper (2005) – This report of the President’s Council on Bioethics poses four approaches to obtaining stem cells that do not involve creating, destroying or harming human embryos.

 Australian Stem Cell Centre – The Centre integrates a national multi-institution research and discovery program to develop treatments for serious diseases through the application of stem cells and related technologies. The site links to educational materials and to news about stem cell research and related issues.

 Explore Stem Cells – This site includes articles about stem cells and the option of subscribing to a newsletter.  New articles are added each month.

 International Society for Stem Cell Research – This site provides basic information, topical essays, public opinion and a perspective on ethical issues related to stem cell research. The site links to resources on ethical issues about stem cell research.

 MedlinePlus Health Information Site on Stem Cells and Stem Cell Transplantation – This site links to news from the NIH and elsewhere, clinical trials, research, organizations, newsletters and statistics about stem cells.

 Monitoring Stem Cell Research - A 2004 report from the President's Council on Bioethics.

 National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC) - This site has archived reports (including Ethical Issues in Human Stem Cell Research, 1999) from the National Bioethics Advisory Commission, whose charter expired in October 2001.

 Responsible Oversight of Human Stem Cell Research: The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine’s Medical and Ethical Standards  – The legislation that established the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) required a Standards Working Group to recommend scientific, medical and ethical regulations to govern CIRM research. After adopting the National Academies of Science Guidelines on an interim basis, CIRM held public hearings and received written comments on their proposed regulations.  Final regulations were adopted late in 2006.

 Stem Cells and the Future of Regenerative Medicine - A 2002 report from the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine.

 Stem Cells Explained and Explored  – This is an on-line tutorial that provides basic information about stem cells developed by  The Life Sciences at University of Michigan.

 Stem Cell Network (Canada) - The Stem Cell Network (SCN) serves as a catalyst to foster advances in stem cell science by targeted research funding, program management, the engagement of industry and not-for-profit partners, and attention to regulatory, ethical, legal and social issues. The site links to research, educational resources and news about stem cells science and related ethical issues.

 Stem Cell Research (updated 2004) -  A report prepared by the Congressional Research Service that describes stem cell research and its potential, reviews congressional action and policy on stem cells, summarizes findings of reports and addresses ethical issues
