Pittsburgh Electronic Crimes Task Force

The Pittsburgh Electronic Crimes Task Force was created initially as a working group in December 2004. This network of professionals draws experts from the mountains of West Virginia to the shores of Lake Erie, all working together to share information and resources to create a more secure electronic environment and apprehend those who violate that security.

About the Pittsburgh Electronic Crimes Task Force
The Pittsburgh Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service and the law enforcement and business communities are now tasked with fighting this evolving battle. As criminals gain knowledge and sophistication in their fraudulent schemes, law enforcement must also sharpen its skills to stay ahead.

The Pittsburgh ECTF creates an open forum for law enforcement, academia and business to share experiences pertaining to information technology and cyber security. The group provides technical support for local investigators, as well as training for both law enforcement and businesses so that they may better understand the restrictions and requirements that are involved in a cyber investigation.
