Salah ad Din Provincial Council Approves 2007 Budget for Capital Reconstruction Projects

In a historic vote on March 28, 2007, the Salah ad Din Provincial Council met and approved the 2007 budget for capital reconstruction projects. The meeting was attended by a quorum of 21 PC members, including the Deputy Governor and Chair of the Provincial Council.

The budget allocates approximately 117B ID for investment projects throughout the province. PC members were thrilled with this successful and historic vote. Sheik Rasheed called the meeting to order at approximately 1100. Each member was then provided with a written copy of the proposed detailed budget. The Governor's Assistant for Technical Affairs provided an overview of the budget for PC members. After each member had an opportunity to speak on the matter, the PC Chair called for a vote, and the budget was approved by unanimous vote of the 21 members present.

The final budget has been sent to the Governor's Office for project execution. The PRT is currently working with the Deputy Governor and his staff to assist them with the project execution process.
