9:00 – 9:30 a.m. – 10 Years of Successes from the 1998 50-State Meeting – Janice Oliver

9:30 – 10:15 a.m. – The Food Protection Plan, Import Safety Action Plan, FDAAA – presented by David Acheson

10:15 – 10:45 a.m. – BREAK

10:45 – 11:30 a.m. – "A New Framework for Government"s Food Protection Efforts" – presented by David Acheson

Day 2, Wednesday August 13, 2008
8:00 a.m. – Meet with workgroup to recap previous day’s efforts

8:15 – 10:00 a.m. – Workgroups (goals, outcomes, charges)

10 – 10:20 a.m. – BREAK

10:20 – 11:45 a.m. – Workgroups resume

11:45 am. – 12 noon – BREAK for lunch (head to main meeting room)

Noon – 1:00 p.m. – LUNCH to be provided; special guest speaker- Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, Commissioner of FDA

1:00 – 1:20 p.m. – BREAK (head to meeting rooms; convert lunch room to meeting room)

1:20 – 3:15 p.m. – Workgroups resume

3:15 – 3:30 p.m. – BREAK

3:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Combine topic Workgroups meet to develop report and summarize findings for presentation on Thursday

5:30 p.m. – Adjourn, dinner on your own

(Facilitators and group member selected to present should prepare presentation/final report for Thursday morning session)

Day 3, Thursday August 14, 2008

7:45 – 10:00 a.m. – Work group reports on suggestions/action items/recommendations (30 minutes per group)
