Russell Hanson earned his M.B.A. in Management from Frostburg State University in 1984 after receiving his M.S. in Biology with a specialization in Microbiology and Genetics from Clarion State University in 1976, and a B.A. in Biology from Gettysburg College in 1973. He arrived at NCI-Frederick in 1976 and has held scientific, administrative, and management positions. Russ initiated his direct support of the LGD in 2002 as supervisor of the Family Investigation of Nephropathy and Diabetes Study laboratory. 2. Animal use – Coordinate use of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and Endangered Species Act (CITES/ESA) multiple use import permit and all other permits associated with imports and exports of non-human animal samples.
  3. Research Donor Program – Coordinate requests, reimbursements, and supplies allocations in support of human blood donations obtained from Occupational Health Services.
  4. FIND Study – Supervise high through-put blood processing and b-lymphocyte immortalization laboratory in support of an NIDDK-funded multi-center family study to investigate genetic factors associated with diabetes-related, end stage renal disease.
