Part D Special Guidance

This page provides information on special issues prescription drug plans need to be aware under the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.  Included on this page is information related to the following areas:

Contacting With Indian Health Care Providers - All Part D sponsors are required to offer network contract to all Indian Health Service, Tribes or Urban Indian Programs (I/T/U) pharmacies operating in the sponsor's service area.  CMS has created one addendum to recognize many of the unique circumstances under which I/T/U pharmacies operate.  PartD plans must offer standard terms and conditions in their contracts with I/T/U pharmacies; these contracts must include, as a floor, terms and conditions that conform to this addendum.  In addition to this addendum, the following links include background information I/T/U services that will be useful to Part D sponsors as they carry out these requirements.

Click the selection that best matches your information needs.  Please check back, as we will continue to update these resources regularly.
