Upcoming Events
3rd Annual CounterACT Network Research Symposium
Tuesday April 14th - Thursday April 16, 2008
Omni Shoreham Hotel
2500 Calvert Street NW (at Connecticut Ave.), Washington, D.C. 20008
The meeting serves two purposes: 1) To facilitate information sharing and collaboration among investigators within the CounterACT
Network, and 2) To allow NIH staff an opportunity to review progress of each award.
- NIH-Sponsored Travel
- Junior Investigator Travel Award
Travel and lodging for selected junior investigators, post doctoral fellows, or graduate assistants will be paid for by the
NIH: one award per U01/U44/IAA/Contract project; or three to six awards per U54 Center (depending on the number of subprojects). These individuals should be actively involved in CounterACT-funded
research. Information on how to nominate a travel awardee has been sent out via email to all CounterACT Network PIs. The
deadline for submission of Travel Award application is Friday Feb. 1, 2008.
- Travel and lodging for one representative of each Center's External Advisory Committee will also be paid by the NIH.
- Project-Sponsored Travel
Travel and lodging for the Project Principal Investigator (PI) should come from your travel budget within your Project award.
Due to space limitations, we ask that each PI limit the number of invited guests to one or two per U01/U44/IAA/Contract project.
This limit can include, one junior scientist travel awardee and one key collaborator, for a maximum of three attendees. For Centers, guests can include, travel awardees, and key collaborators for a maximum total of between 8 and
13 attendees (depending on the number of subprojects). The Center's External Advisory Committee member will not count toward
this limit. Please contact Dr. David Yeung for additional details. Travel and lodging for these guests (other than travel
awardees and External Advisory Committee member) will not be paid for by the NIH, but may be supported by the Project award
budget, if desired.
- Meeting Submission:
In lieu of a Meeting Abstract, all CounterACT Network PIs are requested to submit a Quad Chart briefly summarizing scientific
accomplishments and milestones reached in the current fiscal year of the project. Details on Quad Chart format has been sent
out via email to all CounterACT Network PIs. The deadline for submission of Quad Charts is COB Tuesday March 4th, 2008.
Additional details concerning lodging, airline travel, hotel accommodations, and reimbursement will be available on the conference
website shortly. Registration login information will be sent under separate cover by the logistics contractor, EDJ Associates,
Inc.
Please contact Ms. Stacey Chambers (chambers@ninds.nih.gov) or Dr. David Yeung (yeungd@ninds.nih.gov) if you have any questions
or concerns.
