2002 MEETINGS

  • The COA annual meeting will be held from April 21-24, 2002 in Atlanta, GA. The agenda is based upon the theme "LEADING THE PUBLIC HEALTH RESPONSE TO DISEASE & DISASTER: Global Vision, National Action." For more information about the meeting, on-line registration or accommodations go to the COA web site. CAPT Randolph Daley is organizing the Veterinary Session entitled "Veterinary Response to Protect the Public Health," to be held on April 24th.

  • American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Annual Meeting will be held in Nashville, TN, July 13-17, 2002. A USPHS Commissioned Corps Veterinary Category meeting will be held at the Conference. Please refer back to this web site for more information on time and location.

  • If you are interested in making a 15-30 minute presentation during the AVMA meeting, please prepare an abstract of no more than 300 words and forward it by email to CDR Altekruse by April 1, 2002. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Vet PAC, selections for the meeting made, and submitters notified by April 30, 2000. You are invited to attend the PHS Veterinary Category presentations to learn about PHS activities relevant to the Veterinary Category.

  • We will also have a PHS Veterinary Category booth in the exhibit hall at the AVMA. Please contact CDR Altekruse if you are interested in helping to set up the booth or in representing the Category during the meeting.

  • All Hands Meeting -It will be held Spring 2002. If you have comments or ideas that you would like to share about the All Hands, please contact CDR Altekruse.

  • The 108th AMSUS Annual Meeting is scheduled for November 10-15, 2002 in Louisville, KY. The theme will be "Relevant and Reasonable - the Future of Federal Medicine." If you would like to submit a topic to be considered for inclusion in the program contact CAPT Cindy Pond.
